My first large school project was called
"Onbegrensd Talent". Aventus Apeldoorn organized the Creathon in cooperation with 's Heerenloo Apeldoorn. A creathon is a more creative version of a hackathon, but the concept is the same.
's Heerenloo Apeldoorn asked us to come up with a solution for the following problem:
"How do we make social media accessible for disabled people" ('s Heeren Loo is a care group for people with a physical or mental disability).
We came up with the idea to make a social media platform like facebook, but with filters.
For example, Somebody wants to say something offensive. The filter will notice this and prevent the comment from being placed on the platform. The group supervisor will receive a notification, Notifying him/her of the removed message of the client. Because of that, the supervisor does not have to violate the client's privacy.
The filter will also remove messages containing offensive or sexual content. In time, the system will learn more about what is acceptable and what is not. Thanks to the self-learning technology, the system will grow more advanced every time, and eventually won't have to be operated by people anymore.
We ended up winning. The jury told us our concept was the most feasible and realistic.
'Onbegrensd Talent' is still a concept, but 's Heerenloo is working with specialists to make it a reality!
